I'm still holding out hope for cars in this game. :D There are still a couple of things you could do with them, gameplay-wise. And now that there's weather, I think it would make sense to drive or take a public transport vehicle when it's raining. ;)
wouldn't it be cool if they made another world they could drive too ? I kind of think so. Just one itty bitty little world they could drive on the streets of. It could have winding roads like California does. #dreaming
If only...
I suppose in existing lots without a connected road, the car could just teleport like sims already do in the game. Owning and riding cars in this game still has a lot of storytelling and roleplaying potential in any case.
what kind of scenarios ?
If they just teleport that's no fun
Yeah, I'd like for them to actually move, but not all the lots in the game have connecting roads. :(
And I usually roleplay when I play The Sims games. I could roleplay a family of 5, and owning cars would help with the immersion, because a lot of families IRL own cars. And if a storyteller player wanted to do a transition scene of sims riding from one place to another, or a scene set inside a car, it would help a lot if cars were actually in the game.
A lot of people keep saying that cars would be pointless because sims already teleport and that there's no open world, but a) not everything has to be about practical gameplay in an aesthetically-focused game like The Sims, and b) The Sims 2 had no open world and was able to pull cars off. It even had carpools in the base game!
yeah it kind of feels unnatural to just pop in an out.
Sims 2 does have cars and they can even refurbish them.
If they made one world connected to one of the other worlds, I'd be happy, and
I think that would work.
I'd love that too. :) It would give a sense of a wider connected world (obviously) :D - would love to see the Sims driving a convertible, too bad their hair doesn't move.
But even if it doesn't it would be nice, gives a sense of freedom, and like you said @icmnfrsh can help create good stories ;) - ck213Seasoned ScoutIt's starting to get to me.
All these drivers going by, nice and dry in their boxy transportation...
While my sim leaves the pub for a long dark, wet walk.
I would love to see her get in a car and drive a little distance before the loading screen. - icemanfreshSeasoned Newcomer

Oh yeah, convertibles would great! I don't think we've ever had any in previous games that weren't CC, unless I missed out on a store set or something. - ck213Seasoned Scout

I actually do have the fixer-upper. How did I forget about that? :D"SimzSizzle;c-16594566" wrote:

And working on the cars, my Sims in Sims 2 always did that. Sometimes they didn't want to but I made them. CK213 icmnfrsh
best way to increase handiness and get to ride to boot !
added: They can start out small and give us bicycles, cool with me, just as long as they can feel the breeze on their
face, then graduate to 4 wheels.
Yaaasssssss. I loved the fixer upper car in FreeTime too. It zapped my sims' energy and hygiene quickly, but it was fun to get my sims to restore it. And a great way to get sims interested in tinkering. "icmnfrsh;c-16594600" wrote:

great money boost too if you can get them to stay focused until they finish it- LadyKynSeasoned TravelerHad a Sim had a thought bubble for bunk beds. Wish I took a picture of it. Gurus be trolling.
- anthonydyerSeasoned Traveleridk. I hope so. I would like the game to implement cars, even if it is something simple. My suburban houses need garages which need cars in it. In many suburbs, if you don't have a car, you sit at home and go nowhere.

The thought bubbles aren't hints. This has been in the game since launch, not a hint.
aww :( kind of hoped it was
