I do have a simself, he is my current avatar but I don't think I will ever do something like having a family with him or anything like that... He is on my save where aging is turned off and he lives in a large house together with some other random sims. I like him a lot though.
The sims4 works very much like an escape from real life for me so I don't want many real life sims in my game. My simself is more or less a guest in that world. I have a save where aging is turned off and nothing important happens where sims can retire from challenges or other stuff.
