Thoughts on the new way the cheats bar comes up???

I noticed around the time Island Living came out, when you do Ctrl+Shift+C to get the cheats bar up, your game now automatically pauses and goes dark while you do your cheats. Personally I hate this....

I haven't been in gameplay mode for awhile (just been building homes and venues lately)... but this sounds annoying! Why would they even think this was a good idea to begin with!? Why are they making the game worse and worse!? Ever since they released the "new look" update, everything just seems to be going down hill... WHY!?
