Do you have the Spa Day GP @Orchid13? If you do, your Sim can develop 'good vibes' towards a friend they already have while meditating and magically become Good Friends with them. I just discovered this myself. My Sim has only meditated a couple times and it only happened once so I don't know how often it can happen or what triggered it. Thought I'd mention it though as an option for you. Good luck, you've got some great suggestions here so far. :)
