To avoid alien abduction:
I just experienced my first in this game - Ethan was going outside to "Investigate". No - no! What I did was type in testingcheats on - and then shift click your sim, and press the top one "reset"....

I agree that its unbalanced. I have been trying everything to get my male sim abducted. I have the satellite dish, he's a scientist, got the space rock. I make him stand outside, gardening, painting. He even built a rocket, visited their planet and met an alien. Still waiting. :|
