Unless you're really attached to the current jobs your sims have, my advice is to have one of them start working in a career that they can do from home. In one of my recent families they had a toddler and a baby which made things really hectic. The dad was a police officer and the mom was in the social media career but I'd usually have her go into work. So instead of having the mom quit, I had her start doing the work from home option and it got a lot easier because she could complete her tasks while the kids were content/sleeping and if she got any tasks that required her to leave, she'd just wait until her husband got home and could stay with the kids. It's especially nice because your Sim has from the start of their shift until the start of their next shift to complete the tasks :)
