Can't we already do that?
Go into Game Options - - > Pack Settings - - Enchanted by Nature - - Unchecking "Enable balance and imbalance" and "Enable Ailment Spread.

At this moment we can turn off balence to get less ailments. There is no 'enable ailment spread' in the options today. Unfortunately EA was very thorough in adding ways to give our sims ailments. You can also get them through being near sims with ailments, from fairies or random chance for example when visiting a public toilet. This update should add a toggle to stop contagious spreading. So with the upcoming update those simmers who don't want ailments have more chance to avoid them.
