Tourists in San Myshuno?

This is the first time I've had sims living in the Old Salt House (City Living) and I find it odd that every once in a while, a random sim dressed as a tourist (Hawaiian shirts, shorts, cap, camera) would walk up to the corner of my lot and take pictures of the house. Have they always been around and doing this? Up until now I've only seen tourists in Selvadorada.
I've had sims living in apartments before and I don't think I've ever noticed tourists in the city.

  • The tourists were in right from the beginning. However, I only ever saw one take a photo this week. Before they would walk around, chat, watch the living statues. I think picture taking was in from the start, too, and I just never noticed it.

Note: My game is still on the patch level from before Seasons, so it's been in for at least 2 patches.
  • My current sims are living in the salt house and I have never encountered a tourist. I love all the small details in this game. I hope I see one soon.
  • I didn't realize they've always been there. Goes to show there are still a lot of things I haven't discovered in this game!

Thanks for sharing the pics! That is the exact spot where I've seen tourists. I renovated the salt house a little bit and removed the gate and fence in front. I think I may have to put it back up as sims that spawn in for the festivals sometimes end up coming in uninvited. I do like this lot though as there are always activities happening in front of the house. Living in the apartments, I didn't really see the hustle and bustle that I'm seeing now. I even hear cars honking during the morning rush hour.... again, something I don't recall living in one of the apartments?
  • I tend to spend the most time in the spice district or center park, but I'll be sure to check the other lots you've mentioned. I haven't played a creative sim for the longest time and don't think I've been inside the art gallery in San Myshuno.

Funny you should mention vampires and aliens. I turned the old salt house into a loft apartment, where I have a doctor and detective in residence. The story in my head goes....one or the other would get attacked by a vampire, they would team up and take them on together. I haven't decided yet whether they will 'cure' the vampires or eventually have one of them turn into a vampire for a bit more conflict. Problem is, the vampires aren't cooperating and now the aliens have beaten them to it. For some reason both my doctor and detective have already been abducted, and I don't know whether to work that into the story or pretend it never happened, haha. I've been waiting for a vampire visit for so long, my sims are near the top of their careers and are already engaged. I might just have to visit Vlad and give him a little push.

Your family of vampires and aliens sounds fun! I don't tend to play with kids in my game, but it would be interesting to see the results....looks like you got a pretty good mix in there!

they've taken pictures in that spot from the beginning, yeah. i moved the eldest daughter of my main household (a half-alien, not that it matters) into that lot the day city living came out. it was her 'rich girl wanting to make it on her own, but buys and converts an entire warehouse instead of thinking of the horrors of actually sharing a building with someone' with a nice boho mix of city living and movie hangouts furniture/decor. and lots of plants because she loves the outdoors

and ever since day one, random tourists would walk up to stand next to a pole outside and take pictures through the window into her living/dining area. the tourists are easier to notice if you're on a ground floor lot (two in spice district, one in art quarter, one in fashion district) and i don't believe they actually go to uptown, but may be remembering wrong

As someone who lives in the city quite exclusively most times in most saves, I see these horrid abominations of attire called tourists everywhere. They're in every city neighborhood (including the park area) and do everything mentioned here as well as looking like they're taking photos. It's always been a common sight to me.
  • I've seen plenty of tourists in San Myshuno. Didn't pay attention to whether they used a camera though, but assume they did or I wouldn't know they were tourists...
