Townhouse living or other new living styles

We have city living but townhouses are not an option. It is difficult to merge many families into one in order to do townhouse living. Then see how to lock the doors of each townhouse in one lot. There should be the ability to do actual townhouses with people being able to live next to each other but not jump from one house to the next unless u lock doors.
  • I tried this and it works with locking doors, but not so much with economy. Both families have common cash account, so you would need to have your own system on the side to keep track on income and costs. I play these two families less devotedly because of this, I don't want to keep track on every single minor money transfer. It's easier say if two singles have separate parts of the house, but in my case there are 2 families each of 4 family members.

I had a brother and sister with their significant others living in townhouses. It worked pretty well, I had to keep the doors locked from each other though. Also they shared contents of the fridge and the storage box, as well as money. I recently decided to put them in separate town houses ( left the other side of each blank), so they could start
A family and have animals. I do wish we could rent duplexes and other apartments we have made though. It is hard to keep people in the right space when you have more than one unit on a lot.

If you are not opposed to using mods SNB has account system & there are some mods for non-shared inventories. But still "managing" two different households in a townhouse style is troublesome. I've tried it a couple of times and gave up in the end.
  • I think they need to give us more living options for sure. I'd love to have some brownstones and have multiple families living in them. I loved all of the living situations in Sims 2. They had the best ideas in that game for business and living. I really hope that with the next ep they give us either the option to build apartments or the option to duplicate San Myshuno for more apartment style living. If we could build apartments though that's all I'd have in pretty much all my worlds. I enjoy the compact living and putting multiple sims or families in one building. I like to have a lot of my own sims in my game and being able to just have a ton of apartments and town homes all over would be great. Hopefully we will get another city in the next pack. If University is coming then hopefully we will get new ways of living with dorms, which would maybe help in the way of building things like brownstones and apartments.

I vote for townhouses & a Sims 4 version of Bridgeport.
  • I think there is a mod that allows you to add apartment as a lot trait. I think you would, in theory, be able to create townhouses on a lot
