Confused by the inheritance thing. So if a Sim reached lv10 Noble Career, is a monarch, then their offspring can inherit the titles. But then in another paragraph if a monarch promises their offspring that title they will have to quit their job and take the Noble Career? So does that mean any Monarch's kids MUST be in the Noble Career to become royalty?

~ "Toddlers and Kids still inherit titles from their parents (even if they aren't old enough to join the Noble Career)"
~ "Unless your Sim is inheriting their title from a family member, your Sims will have to quit their job to join the Noble Career."
~ "Yes, the children of Nobles can have a job and a title. However, if they join the Noble career they will have to quit their other job. In order to inherit a parents title (example a Queen promising her daughter to inherit the title of Queen) your Sims will have to join the Noble career."
So, it sounds like the immediate family can be given titles by the Sim who is in the Noble career, but in order to ACT as a noble/royal and get the benefits, challenges and be able to do decrees, they must actually join the Noble career themselves when they are old enough. I think also, if an offspring is to inherit the exact title of the royal, they must also take the Noble career or they cannot fulfill the duties.
Keep in mind though, that we haven't heard yet what the Legacy system does. It may affect different things or influence lineage in a more general way, but maybe there are some features that offer more options.Ahh okay, that clears it up for me. And there can only be one ruler in each world IF they are in the Noble career, I presume. I wonder if this is retroactive in already existing saves, or do we have to start fresh to bestow non-career-but-royal-title to family/offspring? Maybe I should be patient and wait for the next trailers lol

Re existing saves, my plan is to wait for UI cheat mod to update. This mod allows you to adjust career levels among many other settings, and makes it possible for me to place all my most important nobility into the new career and make sure their rank stays the way I want. For future generations I will cheat only if needed to meet the system I am already playing in my current save.
Prolly gonna find out as soon as the game comes out ;p But I think it makes sense that if you want to be a king you have to commit to it you cant be a king and a chef at the same time ;p Its like Megan Markle had to quit her Hollywood career me thinks ;p
