Ugh, Family Moodlet

So my Sim recently aged up to YA and ever since, he's been getting this moodlet whenever he's around family:

Why is this? I mean, he has a bad relationship with his stepfather but he gets along just fine with his mother. When he aged up he received the traits argumentative, irresponsible, and uncontrolled emotions. Could it have anything to do with these parenting traits?

I get this moodlet too from the Parenthood pack, but I hadn't connected it with their familial relationships as a child! Will definitely have to pay more attention to that, I thought it was just another random mood swing!

One of my Sims was a Clingy toddler; he's now a Child (about to age up to Teen) and he gets Tense from being around non-family members or non-caregivers. That makes it rough because he lives with his step-father Gunther Munch, Gunther's wife Cassidy, and their two children Jaxon and Michaela. I have him write in his journal a lot and that takes care of the general Tense mood, but I wonder if it'll continue into YA or if I should look into getting him the purchase reward that means your Sim doesn't get Tense.

I also had one toddler with the clingy trait. He's now a teen and no longer seems to be bothered by being around non-family members at all.
  • OMG, I am grown and there are times I can so relate to the moodlet :D

None of my Sims' toddler traits have ever carried over to the child stage, but child Sims can go through a clingy phase. Maybe that could be it.
  • I had this happen once but i didn't check on the relation with his parents. I actually never checked on that cause i thought it didn't had any impact on the game. Im glad it has.
My sim had this moodlet during a phase. When he became a YA the moodlet still appeared when he was around his parents. I thought it was a bug. But now that i think, he was hot headed and has argued a lot with his parents during his teen years. So he most problaby had a bad relation with them.
  • I hope they will update this now when we have “sentiments” and add “lifelong” sentiments (that´s not fade unless you do not work on them =reconciliation). That way the sims can instead get a “lifelong” sentiment (unhelpful parent/helpful parent = negative/positive sentiment) to a parent when they grow up and chose to get rid of the sentiment by trying to forgive/confront the parent.
