Which "normal base game" way do you mean? There's more than one way in the base game.
You'll still be able to just "elope" and there's even a new city hall in the new world where you can do that. (It's a rabbit hole)
You'll still be able to just get married by choosing it from the Sim menu when a sim is engaged.
The old wedding "event" however, will be gone, replaced by the customizeable new wedding event. But you could set it up to be exactly the same as the old one if that's what you want.
The only old way to do weddings that I'm not clear if it's still available is whether or not arches will still have the option to "Get married" outside of having a wedding event going on. None of the people previewing the pack whose videos I have watched have clicked on an arch with an engaged Sim outside of a wedding event.
