Underrated Seasons features?

I like all the possibilities I can use the Calendar for, and I feel people don't stray too far enough with just making holidays.

What sort of possibilities please?

I enjoy that my Sims seem to enjoy being inside when it's snowing. Time to cuddle up by the fireplace. I also think it's a nice touch that Sims feel differently about various traditions based on their personality and life situation. Oh, and I like that it's dark outside on cloudy days. Feels very realistic and adds atmosphere. Good for immersion.

The new column. I've been dying for a proper Craftsman column in the game lol.

I think the adorable crafts kids can now make are quite underrated. It just adds so much realism, coziness and just more fun to preparing for holidays! Now all i wish for is a baking cookies with the whole family feature :)

The craftsman style build mode objects. I know they are a slightly edited version from Cats and Dogs, but I like the style and color variations of these ones more.

I dunno if this is an underrated feature or not, but I really like the fact that I can set weather preferences for my sims and that some of them seem to be more afraid of thunderstorms than others! I don't know if this is something that I did or if it happened randomly, but the sim in my profile picture doesn't get a tense moodlet from being afraid of thunderstorms while her two brothers do! I think that's super cool because she's a very chill and fun-loving sim and I can see her thinking thunder is cool rather than scary!

Again, not sure if I did that somehow through traits or if it randomly happened or if it's a glitch, but it's cool nonetheless!

I love the child crafts a LOT. And there's so dang many options for them!

I have been noticing that, too. Sims who have declared love for rain won't get tense during the thunderstorm (while indoors) even when they doesn't have the Carefree trait. Other sims who don't get tense (even outdoors) are those with Erratic or Storm Chaser Sim trait. These two traits also increase the chance of sim getting struck by lightning.
