University Degree career boosts are quite high! Thoughts?

I think it’s great, our Sims need a good incentive for attending University, especially with the distinguished degrees.

When I first thought saw the boosts, my first inclination was that they were too much. I thought that maybe regular degrees could start at 5 and distinguished at 6 and distinguished could have stronger multiplier than the regular degrees. However, the more I think about it, perhaps these boosts are pretty good. I am one of those simmers who RARELY ever reach level 10 of a career! By rarely I seriously think, since 2000 when I started playing Sims, I could honestly say at most 9 or 10 sims I've reached level 10 of a career! I jump around so much with goals and I love telling stories so my careers always rarely get my full focus. University might be greater incentive to keep at all my careers because it wouldn't take long to reach level 10! I can't wait to get my hands on this pack because I think it will really refresh how I play my game. :)

Same with me! I really want to play thru the doctor career and now I’ll actually be able to finish!

If you play on normal life span sims spend most of their young adult life stage in university. If you want to have them reach the top of their career on normal life span you need a big boost. But the boost is definitely higher than I expected.

Normal life span is far too short for me. I have problem where I get attached to TONS of Sims! I always jump between "Aging Off" and "Age only Active Household" and use MC Command Center to make my Sims live veryyyyy long! I usually am a control freak about any of my sims dying so I will do it for "story purposes" most of the time. haha. Anyway, these degree boosts are going to be good for my game I decided. I agree that the boosts are much higher than expected. I can already hear the complaints of University making the game too easy!

I think these boosts are just fine, especially because we don't get any personality reward (which is a shame). With GF your sim with good reputation can easily hop on level 5 of any career (it's only a chance that some sims will make you an offer, but still), and I love that distinguished degrees and graduation with honors matter.

That is another great point! Get Famous really ended up being the gem I never knew it would be. I just love that pack. You are right. Starting higher than 5 will distinguish that perk from the Get Famous one! I agree that it is a shame that there isn't any personality reward! I absolutely love how in Sims 3 University Life you get new CAS trait slots once you graduate! Sims 4 REALLY REALLY needs a trait and personality overhaul! Thank goodness for custom traits and a mod I use that lets you have more than 3 CAS traits!

That makes a good point, and if on long life span give you something to do more, go back get more degrees ( they said we can do multiple) and once you are done bounce to the career you actually wanted right where you left off from it, sounds cool to me.

The big leap is exactly what I need for my established save. I married the Chief of Police and wanted to transfer her into politics (but might be going with the new Law career now). Her husband is police lieutenant already and my candidate for the next Chief of Police. If I graduate both, Oumaima can start in an influential position, what makes sense for one who has already proven responsibility for such an office. No way she'd start as a coffee fetcher! Meanwhile Hank will skip only like two ranks or so, which is reasonable.

I think it's great, but for my current save it makes me a bit nervous. I plan on getting her into education when she graduates from Uni, and I was hoping to be able to see all of the stages of it. Oh well.
