What I do when I have trouble getting a cheat to work is: right click, copy the cheat, go into my game, open the cheat bar, make sure the cursor is flashing, press Control-Shift-V and that puts the cheat into the bar for me.
I discovered this one time when I was retrieving some cheats for the vampires I was playing at the time.
It comes in very handy for those complicated cheats especially the ones where you feel like you have to press one key at a time to get them right or even for those cheats that you want to try out once to see what they do, but you can't seem to get it to work otherwise.
