All of these things sound amazing! I basically just made an account to post about all this university excitement! This is by far my favourite expansion pack and the anticipation is driving me crazy.
For kids/ teens I’d like to see the options for art school, private school etc come back with afterschool activities. I think a new feature could be an exam that they write once a week which they have to study for and it boosts the grade. When they age up they basically get a report card with a grade on that is saved like a memory. They could also use their grades to apply to private school or if they are rich pay full tuition and bring back having the principal over like in Sims 2.
They could also enhance the university aptitude test so its skills, career, traits and then they write a test like the SATS. The language score could add points to the Business, Communication and Fine Arts tracks and the math score could count towards the Technology, Science and Medical tracks.
For the university features, they could bring back societies/frats etc and use a perk system like the Get Famous pack so that certain actions gain points for that society and give sims special perks like throwing keggers or holding rallies. They could also add new actions like ‘studying’ which means people who own Get Together could have study groups.
Lastly for the majors and the active class. I think they should have specific majors for example you join Fine Arts but you’re a culinary major or a music major. You join communications but you’re a Journalism major. Then the active classes could be practical so for culinary it would be in a room with 5 students at cooking stations making recipes and the scientists could do experiments at tables. It sounds complicated but all these animations and objects are already in the game, all they would need to do is create the room itself.
Then for the final exam it could part exam and part practical and your sim just enters the same room and does there practical. Their score would be based on their skill level, academic level and exam score. For each major there could be a few options like cook a different recipe, write a different type of story or for a politician – make a different kind of speech.
I would also like to see a local college system which functions like a rabbit hole career and an online university which functions like the work from home careers.
I hope so many hopes and ideas for the pack that now I am not only worried that the next pack isn’t University but also that like most things, the reality does not live up to the dream. Guess we will just have to wait and see!
