"In today's news, do video games not only promote violence but also encourage players to hunt endangered species to extinction? Our biased, non fact checked sources all point to yes!"
Video game in the future will be censored pretty hard if everything involving animal species sparks controversy, imagine Red Dead Redemption 3 in the future without the ability to ride a horse or catch a fish, or hunt deer for skin and meat because its too cruel.
I just dont understand why some people take games too seriously, its entertainment, it's not real, I'm just going to say it the sensitivity those days are getting ridiculous, they need to grow a pair, sponsor a panda or a tiger or something in real life, make a difference outside the game, try correct what other humans have done, (were the most dangerous and worst animal in the planet, let's be real here)
Games in 2000 where you can actually catch a Coelacanth fish did not spark any controversy and that fish existed since dinosaur age and is critically endangered.
but you're not differentiating the context. ea always flaunts about how morally correct they are every time, censoring unnecessary things, pretending everything they do is for their players safety. the sims is already a censored game. it's a life simulator aimed for a younger audience so the game is highly watered down from what it would be an actual life simulator.
i have played other games where i would never worry about what they do, because the game is already incorrect politically and every one of their players know. but the sims? ea pretty much preaches how the sims is a "safe space", so of course people will look more for these kind of issues. it's like seeing a racist joke on family guy and seeing a racist joke on a disney movie.
and some people here instead of making fun of the op (who btw is not even using a whining tone about this, they made fair points about the issue) how about trying to explain your views in a polite manner? but noo it's better to say "haha fool, pixel fish go brr"
We are talking about a fake fish here ??
i'm talking about ea and their hypocrisy
EA arent really, if the sims 4 gets anymore of a safe place the sims will just stand there, doing nothing, my point is why be bothered about a fish in a game yes okay its endangered in real life but it's not real
because i've seen a lot of people try rl recipes from videogames, and this people could actually harm the real fish.
Then theres the question then, why are supermarkets selling endangered fish ? Us meat eaters are going to eat what's in supermarkets tbh
True, as per my previous post, if the fish is indeed endangered, there wont be any place where you can buy the said fish easily(cept' black market).
People will know if the fish is endangered after they're planning to buy it.
