Oh, another reason that rental lots in non-vacation worlds can be useful
In regular play, if you're faking a hotel or what have you, and you say "go home" the sim will go to their actual home. If you're "vacationing" they will go back to the rental.
It's a minor thing, but having tried the "second home in Sulani by using a Retail Lot" routine, it would have been so much easier to just repeatedly rent it when needed.
