I got Vampires over the summer, and was eagerly waiting for my first vampire breakins to occur!So far, all that happens is someone knocks on the door late at night, and hangs around like any other visitor.If invited in, they come in, read books or chat or watch tv or whatever.If not invited in, they eventually leave.No biting... no feeding... nothing creepy at all (except it's late at night and they're randos)... The only reason I can tell they are vampires is that when I click on them the "Make vampire pun" social is available.Oh, and when I start a new save Vlad or another random individual calls to compliment my sims on their lovely neck.Is that it??? I'm kinda feeling let down

Yeah, this was one of those sad nerfs that happened when EA decided Twitter crybabies are who they should pander to. It was a beautiful pack back in the day. still very good but they child proofed it.

I bought Vampires when it first came out. I remember the first visit from one was to the home of a couple I was playing. They were sleeping and Vlad came in, compelled my sim and bit her until she passed out, then he left! I was surprised, but really enjoyed it! Started looking up how to protect them from visits, and she went looking in the lore so could make the garlic wreath. It was fun. But if I remember correctly, people complained about the vampire visits and it was toned way down. Unfortunately. They later added locking out vampires on the doors, so it would be nice if vampires visited more often now, or a toggle similar to werewolves so those who don't want them can have a choice and those of us who do can still have those visits more often.

Nowadays, if you aren't actively playing a vampire character, the pack might as well not be there for all the affect it has on your game play.

If Vampires do still have a chance of breaking in, I wish they'd tune it to be after or around midnight, so most Sims are asleep by then. 10 or 11 is way too early. If not, I would love if they fed on Sims who were still awake. >:)

Maybe that's just me, but I don't go to bed before midnight. It just feels wrong, lol.

This! Plus awake pets seem to keep them away as well.

@Behappy1st ahhhh maybe it will be different if the vampire gets too thirsty? They get an uncomfortable moodlet from that right? perhaps that will boost the autonomy for biting. Sounds like it happened for you in normal socialization, not just in a breakin.

Yes, just a normal day with their friendship maxed. So it was a real surprise.

I think leaving your door unlocked helps. I actually had Vlad attack one of my sims fairly recently. I usually lock the door but had forgotten. Was happy to see not completely gone. That was in a game a started after getting Horse Ranch.

Yeah, if they get too hungry and dont have the "tamed thirst" perk, theyll feed autonomously.
I think it can also happen if they get very angry, if I remember correctly one of my sims did that, he bit another sim despite being full but he was very angry at the time (and I did not tell him to do that).
Happens very rarely tho.

I love the Vampire occult pack.
That said, people complained about the attacks, so it got kind of nerfed. However, I still enjoy the break ins when they happen. make sure that the door is accessible to all Sims, if you lock it, they have a harder time breaking in. So, if I don't want to a Sim bitten, I lock the door.
Vlad is the biggest culprit for the break ins, and I see him more often at night visiting. I have seen Caleb too, and will invite both in when I see them, and want a vampire.

I miss the original pack system, sad they decided to remove (yes because in my save, no break in at all) 😔
