Vampire needs decay too slowly

I think I've mentioned this before, but I find vampire needs decay too slowly. A lot of my gameplay is managing sim needs, but with vampires I'm left bored.

Does anyone know of any mods that make vampire needs decay at the same rate as they do for human sims? also a mod to make vampire energy decay like normal energy would be great too.

  • What's the whole point of having vampires when their energy drains become the same as mortal sims? :p
  • @BabySquare I was actually pretty intrigued by this issue so I did some research today.

Unfortunately all of the mods I was able to find do just the opposite. They slow decay (especially thirst - two or three out there for that) and enable human traits from aspiration rewards for vampires. To wit - Normally vampires can accumulate vampire points to eliminate the need for social, hygiene, fun etc.., but if you buy the non-vampire equivalents with aspiration reward points, those rewards don't normally work for vampires - so never weary does not apply to a vampire even when you spend 10K aspiration points to buy it for him. There are mods out there that enable those perks for vampires so they do work for vampires.

If you ever do come across a mod or something that does this though - please post it or PM me, I would be interested in that. Also those talented folk over in the modding area of the forum often listen to and try to fulfill requests for mods and they are very familiar with existing mods. They might be a good resource for you if you want to ask over there.

Thank you for looking into it. I thought I'd post the OP as I'd too been looking for the mods I mentioned and couldn't find anything. I did heard one mention of a mood to make vampiric energy decay the same as human energy, but I couldn't find a link for it. If I do find anything I'll let you know. :)

If I still can't find anything I'll post in the mods forum.
  • I'm pretty sure there is something in the MCCC mod that will speed up this. I'm not in my game at the moment to check, but I know that with the MCCC mod you can increase and decrease how fast or slow their needs go, also on how fast or slow you want to make the day go by in the game. It has it broken down to where if you want to just adjust it for the vampire you can, as well for cats, dogs, and humans.

Yes here is what it says.

    MotiveDecay_Vampires

Alters the rate at which the motives decay for Sims. 100, which is the default, results in normal motive decay. Below 100 reduces the rate at which motives decay. 50 = half the normal motive decay rate. 0 = no motive decay. etc. Going above 100 (up to 200) increases the rate at which motive decay making them drop 2x faster than default EA levels. Traits and buffs that affect Motive decay will still apply to the new decay rate as well unless it's set to zero.

Thank you so much for this. :) I just hope it can allow vampire energy to decay like normal energy.
