If you use the UI Cheats Extension mod, you could just right click on the moodlet to remove it. I have a couple in Selvadorada for the week, and there was heat wave for three days straight, so, naturally, while exploring the jungle, they started burning to death. I just right clicked the moodlet to remove it, and the crisis was averted. If you don't have the mod (or don't want the mod), there's probably a cheat that will let you remove the moodlet.
