Vampires cannot complete Outdoor Retreat's Aspiration

Seems like I learn something new everyday about vampires, though sadly not always good.

The final phase of Outdoor Retreat's Aspiration demands that you sleep five nights in a tent. I guess to make sure people didn't just cheat the system, you have to sleep a minimum of 6 hours and your vampire has to wake themselves up, otherwise this doesn't qualify as sleeping a night.

The problem is Vampires don't wake themselves. Ever. You have to manually cancel it, much like you would if a vampire were hibernating in a coffin. Because you manually cancel it though, the game thinks you're cheating and doesn't assign a point.

    Just tested it. It's not impossible. Their needs just need to get super low. So unless you have one of these super vamps who don't need nothing you can still complete it, otherwise you should maybe reskill them. I don't think this is intentional, but I hope this is a workaround for you, at least for the time being.

    I wouldn't mind if this part of the aspiration were tweaked or even taken out and replaced by some other OR or herbalism pursuit.

    Glad you pointed out a work around @Yoko2112 seems a pain in the butt to do but there is that.
    It's also hard to complete if you have the never weary trait. (I use to have a sim that completed the music aspirations put sims to sleep with the lullaby.. no clue if that works on vamps though)
    If you have a GTW career you won't get a ding if your still sleeping in the tent when the game whisks you off. (unless that's been patched or tweaked).

    That's weird, I just get the "sleep" option on my tents and my vamps don't come out unless their needs force them to. Do you have autonomy on ? And do you go to Granite Falls to do this ?

    For real. I mean I suspected they might come out if their moods dropped low, I just think it's a bit ridiculous to have to almost kill them to complete a not-so-great aspiration.

    I'm sure it's an oversight. It seems like the design of waiting for the Sim to cancel their sleep is just a way to ensure players don't cheat the system by going in and out of the tent five times, it just doesn't work for vampires, who can sleep for centuries.

    Maybe he had a vampire with a certain career though? I wouldn't be too surprised if a rogue career or two actually had them wake up.

    I wanted to post a work around here for anyone who may be still experiencing problems as I was.

    If you don't want to (or as in my case, can't easily) respec your vampire all you need to do is have another sim in the household do something that will wake up your sim.

    I simply put a guitar next to the tent and had another sim play it in the morning. It wakes my vampire right up and counts as a self wake up. yea they may be cussing and spitting from the rude awakening but it will tick off one night.

    Just make sure that your Vampire has the Sun Resistance Strengths & Loves Outdoors trait.
