Vampires question

I'm thinking about getting Vampires and Nifty Knitting during this sale.

One question about vampires though. In TS2 it really upset me when my played sims got turned into vampires while I was playing other households. I'd be out at a community lot with one played household, another played sim would visit the lot, and get turned by an NPC vampire while I watched helplessly.
Does that happen in TS4?

    In ts2 I only ever had vampires turn other sims autonomously after I had persuaded one NPC vampire to bite an NPC. So I avoided doing that.

    Sims 4 vampires are actually fairly benign, in my experience. Without mods, they rarely, if ever, hunt/feed or recruit without permission (unless you are actively controlling them and tell them to). I've actually got several mods that "turn up" the aggressiveness of vampires and even then, they stay fairly quiet.
