Very random questions from my new game.

As subject:

1) Is Bust the Dust still so very broken that Sims simultaneously have 'Clean Floor' and dusty 'Somebody lives here' moodlets: plus failure of floors to get dirty as designed? Answer: It's partially fixed.

2) Is there perhaps a mod that will allow me to turn on NPC voting for NAPs (neighbourhood action plans) in the active household neighbourhood ONLY. I would like to try it, once, but not where I go travelling to find Sims randomly fighting or wearing bags on their heads because the system is playing in the background in other worlds.

3) Is there a mod, cheat or method to change the type of the other Evergreen Harbour community spaces without having to have a resident of that small neighbourhood vote? I want to make use of all three and they start out practically abandoned.

4) Do you reckon Nova Curious is more a cat or a dog woman? {So far vote is leaning towards dog}

5) Nova is supposedly related to the Curious brothers. Are they premade in Strangerville and present in a new game or must they be collected from the Gallery? Answer: They're in the Gallery only, for now.

6) Why, just because it is winter, must my house be so very dark with auto-lights? I need to keep the bills reasonable... I also want to be able to see my furniture and my Sim. -sigh- Is there a way around this?

Extra:

7) Has anyone reading this used Kuttoe's Career Overhaul mod and would you recommend it?
  • 1) Both moodlets still show up together but dust is working as intended (accumulating etc.).

    2) and 3) I don't know

    4) Hard one @_@ I guess dog woman. She is also on my save btw :smile:

    5) They're not present on Strangerville but you can download them at Maxis profile. From what I understand, SV is thematically based on Strangetown and a nod to Stranger Things from Netflix

    6) Get richer ? You can also try the Frugal reward trait (helps get cheaper bills), candles (or make candles if you own EL) and fireplaces too
  • 3. you could edit the lot in manage worlds and add items you like
    4. after thinking it through i think i get dog vibes
    5. curious brothers are only in gallery

    6. use candles? or use those eco thingies for electricity ?

    honestly idk because ive never had sim so poor as to not be able to afford their bills
    maybe sell some stuff if they have some

    and i actually quite like using auto lights its easier to tell where my sims at and also seems more realistic when every light in the house is not on 24/7
  • 2. Your played sims can vote for NAPs without a mod. I think that works even with NPC voting turned off. The voting period is Friday through Monday evening.
    3. There is a cheat, but you have to be playing a resident of that neighborhood to do it. It can be done quickly. You can just move a sim in for two minutes, testingcheats on, shift-click the board, then move your sim out.
    6. The houses that come with the game don't have much in the way of lighting. If you want rooms to be brighter when your sim is in them, try adding some more lighting. If you want rooms your sim isn't in to be brighter, but not with all the lights on, the candle suggestion is a good one. They have a separate setting, so they can be permanently on while the other lights are on auto-lights.
    9. No, but many appliances have an upgrade available that makes them get dirty less often.

    Thanks @Flap. "Get richer" definitely gave me a laugh, in a good way. As stated in subject this is a new game; so my Nova Curious has only just moved into her Evergreen Harbour apartment and hasn't even had her first day of work just yet. How are you enjoying her??

    I agree with the realism of the in game lights not being on all over an empty or sleeping house. but it would be nice to be able to see my game a bit better while having that still be true.

    More Questions:

    8) Does coffee make Sims gain weight and does yoga help them keep slim?

    9) Do higher quality (more reliable) objects stay clean longer? {I let Nova buy some semi-decent furniture and nothing seems to have gotten messy in the whole first week/season}
  • 3) With testingcheats on you could shift+click the community board on community space you want to change and instantly enact the type of space you want. But your sim must to live in that same neighborhood to do that.

    8) Don’t know about coffee but yoga helps keeping your Sims fit
  • I think yoga gives you best results if you want your sim to keep slim without lookin skelly

    objects dunno
