I guess I jumped the gun on my opinion. I didn't know they kept giving so much money after you friend them when the sim isn't asking. I don't care if they nerf that part at all.
I do think they should keep giving gifts though and what they give shouldn't be nerfed. Asking is in the players control.
Mostly I won't be friending them unless I have a sim that is a slob and likes to live in filth either way.. so that might be what one character?
So I doubt it will matter to me much either way in the long run.
