I feel like some people are misconstruing a few things. Disney canned EA's exclusivity, not it's licensing. EA is still going to be making Star Wars games, such as a sequel to their unexpectedly good Fallen Order game, they will just no longer be the only company producing Star Wars titles now. This is a good thing, because Star Wars games had pretty much rotted on the vine since they've been handled solely by EA. I still remember the Jedi Knights games before EA got their claws in them, as well as games like Galactic Battlegrounds, Rogue Squadron, and Shadows of the Empire, they were all amazing and they all came from various developers who could contribute different views and takes on the Star Wars universe. The Sims team could have actually contributed in this regard, if they had created a standalone game akin to Medieval that was a life simulator set in the Star Wars universe, instead of hastily tacking this Disney Parks sales ad onto the Sims.
But yeah, TL:DR - EA can still make Star Wars games. They're just not the only people allowed to make them now.
