- akl12267 years agoSeasoned Ace@Cinebar it’s also really useful for certain challenges where rules are you have to randomize the traits (100 baby, legacy, etc). So it has its use for sure.

Good eye. Great added feature for challenges.
I'll probably spend time in CAS just making households for the Gallery. Can't wait until fall when I can do a household with an alien, a vampire, a merSim and a witch.- Is it coming to console?

I'm sure it will, but I'm not sure when since I'm not familiar with console's patch releases in relation to PC.- LiELF7 years agoLegend

@Cinebar
When creating dozens of “extra” sims and families to populate my worlds, it’s nice to be able to randomize otherwise I always gravitate toward choosing the same traits. Either that or I agonize over which traits are appropriate for a given sim.
By randomizing, I’m letting fate decide.
Up until now I’ve been using random number generators and dice, but if the function was built into the game that would be great for my purposes.
It eliminates personal bias, adds variety, and the function being built-in will also have the benefit of speeding up my sim creation process considerably.
@Cinebar This. I create a lot of Sims myself, and sometimes I want their traits to be a surprise and a challenge. Sometimes I want my Sims to tell me who they are. I can have a lot of fun with randomizing, especially if two traits just don't seem to go together. Sometimes it can spawn ideas and create a very interesting Sim story. Using external randomizers just don't have that fun element to doing it, because I still have to cycle through and choose the ones it came up with, where an in-game one can be used quickly, I don't even have to look at it, and I can just throw them in the game and see how they turn out. - I need this because if I am feeling edit-y I need to quickly create a sim to start a new game.

Exactly. I love rolling random traits and being surprised. For example, if gloomy or slob come up, those will inform my sim creation process and I probably wouldn’t have chosen them on my own. - icemanfresh7 years agoLegend

Hopefully the button is also there when aging up.
I haven't started a Sims 4 legacy yet, but this would make it easier to randomize traits for your descendants (instead of relying on Pinstar's randomizer on his site)
