I remember Sims 3 was receiving a lot of hate for not having everything sims 2 had: aspirations, fears, aspiration meter, cut scenes, busynesses you could run, normal apartments, vacations like they were in sims 2 instead of tomb raiding, proper car animations, cow plants, etc. And every sims 3 EP came with a choir of "no, no, no, EA is ruining the sims, sims 2 was the best.
But I was defending sims 3, saying that it doesn't have to be sims 2 clone with open world, that sims 3 has the right to be it's own thing and do thing differently, you loose some, you get some, sims 3 is fun in it's own way and if you don't like it, sims 2 still exists. And what do you know? Now I see ppl saying sims 3 was the best in the series. Not so terrible game after all, I guess. :D
If sims 5 comes out, I will not be surprised to see ppl crying that sims 5 ruined the sims and sims 4 was the best. It's natural. Having a new game makes you revaluate the old one, you start to miss some things you were taking for granted. I don't expect some great sims 4 overhaul in the patch... but I will have fond memories of it that's for sure.
