Literally all simmers would agree with these points. Yet nothing has been done and I doubt will ever be done to fix them. Sims 5 better be good.
Untrue. This simmer doesn’t agree. I like this game as it is.
I agree, I have turned whims off, I use the same traits for every one of my sims - cheerful, outgoing and self assured - and I chose the same aspiration for everyone (money) and never complete it. Ive just discovered the sims have perk points in Get Famous after playing it for years :) the story to me is the actual game not all the other stuff like whims etc.
I wouldn't want this system changed - unless it can be turned off for those like me who dont want to do them
Well it just comes down to how you play. They way you play sounds like you make up the stories and then play them out. I don't want that. I prefer the game to guide me, so I use whims, wishes or whatever they call them in every iteration.
Like in TS3, if my sim seemed to go exercise a lot on their own i might give them a trait that correlate (or just simply randomise). If my sim wanted to get married or have a baby I would most likely have them get to it. My game guides the way I play and I can spends hours playing it that way.
In TS4 it's a little harder to play that way as I have to decide what they like, what they don't like and what interest them and I can't really go by whims as they are random and exactly the same for every sim (and the devs don't update them anymore.)
TS4, in my opinion, is made more for storytellers who have their own idea to play out (which I sometimes have as well, but more an overall goal).
A great example for it focusing on storytellers is the amount of shallow interactions etc that is only useeful for ascetics, like a screenshot etc. They don't actually matter.
(It's also great for builders - like just how many items have the devs made available to build with that actually don't work as objects in the game? Like sims walk through them but who cares, you can build!)
Don't get me wrong though, I do like TS4 and have fun sometimes, its just a lot more work for less. But I miss it if I play TS3, especially the characters I've played for litteral years by now. Although the amount of personality they have is what I have made.
