I agree we need more diversity - but I don't think it's only a problem with the Gallery, it is all around us... I think the players promote the same looks we are used to seeing in advertising. We can do our part and upload, download and favourite more diverse Sims, but it may take a while before this pattern changes.
I was very shocked when I went to the Gallery for the first time and found female Sims with the tiniest waists and largest boobs, I didn't even know that was possible. I am happy to say I feel represented by my sim's diverse body proportions, skin and hair :D
