My thoughts exactly. The trailers DID generate hype - I know a lot of people, both in the community and outside it, who were hyped after the first trailer. It depends on how you viewed the trailer and, perhaps, what pre-conceived ideas were already floating around (Country Livin' hoax, for example).
The fact that there is a lot more to the pack than shown in the trailers suggests a well rounded pack.
I get that they generated hype for some people, but for the majority the trailers were off-putting. So even if some of you guys liked them, it appears objectively valid to say: they failed to do their job. As a content writer working in marketing, I'd feel really, really, really bad about myself if my content actually made people want our products less instead of more. Trust me, it's extremely rare that developers hype their products better than the people working in marketing.
