Do you think a club could maybe alleviate the frustration with the formal outfits? I think you mentioned it at the end of your post. What if you created a club for the wedding party and selected the option to make the club attire formal wear? Then once your wedding starts, you start a club gathering so everyone changes into their formal wear automatically.
