@cutecabaret, when I mentioned 6 hours it was because I have seen others mention it. I have not had a ceremony myself where I didn't end it early in far less than 6 hours because everything was completed and I wanted to get on to the reception.
Just like you can with the base game goaled events, you can end any of the new wedding events early by clicking the "timer" area and selecting yes to the prompt which asks you if you want to end it. Also just like the goaled events from the BG, you still get 'credit' for a successful event if you've done the goals when you end it this way.
