I haven't had any weddings recently, but I did have a Winterfest Party, a House Party. I got a Silver for the Goals. This was because my Sim had baked a Holiday Cake, but there weren't enough servings left when the goal of Eat Cake 0/3 popped up, close to the end of the Party. There were only two servings, as it had been a hit, and there wasn't enough time to bake another. So close, and yet, so far!
Cake, and when to actually eat it, can be a real challenge in these situations. To complete this Goal, I would have had to have the cake ready, but keep Sims from eating too much of it. Putting a topper on will achieve this, but this wasn't a birthday or a wedding. I could have put one on, then removed it, I guess. Putting in their personal inventory doesn't work, as they will eat it out of there at the drop of a hat, or the fridge. Any cake is like Crack to Sims....come to think of it, tho, if it had been in her inventory, and she ate even a couple pieces, there still would have been over three left. I wish a cake was in the Gift List so that you could purchase one quickly in emergencies.
I hired a mixologist when I planned the Event, but they didn't come right away, so I hired another by clicking on the bar. Later on, there were two of them there, but one cleaned up, haha. You can barely see her in this pic, haha, standing right in profile with Gavin, the dude in the yellow shirt. My Sim Lilliana is in the black and white outfit, sitting in the chair.

Here, everyone is dancing, and the dog is loving it. Lilliana's roommate Bailey is in the blue. I didn't get a pic with the Holiday Tree in it, darn! I had also cleared out a room upstairs with the card table in it, in case the Play Games Goal popped, but I didn't get that one.
