Welcome Wagon is kinda bothersome.

I think my only problem is with it is that even if I give it the full time and interact with the neighbors and everything, I don't always get a good rating out of it, so it gets annoying that even though I had them stay, they still didn't like it. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but oh well. I thought I didn't do it one time because I had my Sim go out right when I moved her in and then a couple days (yes, days) later here them come. Thought that was a little odd.

@wylmite1986 It looks like the result depends on how much your sim has socialized the most with just one neighbor. I had my sim socialize equally but just a little bit with all neighbors, the result was neutral. But when my sim was very friendly with just one neighbor, and all other neighbors were almost totally ignored, all the neighbors were happy at the end.

Ok, that makes like no sense, but in a way, that is just the Sims for ya I guess. :) Good to know for future.

I didn't mind after I started filling neighborhoods with my own sims. I realized I don't like to revive a welcome wagon from Maxis made sims, but I'm totally into it if their my own sims.

You could light those sims on fire. Then there won't be any Sims that dislike you.

The Welcome Wagon should just be called the Unwelcome Wagon. They come, I let them in, they give me that disgusting fruit-cake thing that for some reason my sims keep eating and getting a negative moodlet (I end up having to throw it away before then, now), they sit and chat with my sims, and after ALL of that, they leave and say "I guess we're not wanted here." YOU CAME TO MY HOME UNINVITED. I did everything I could to be a nice host, but nooooo. *face palm*

the welcome wagon used to really irritate me, because they always show up when i'm being romantic with that special someone.

the one good thing about the welcome wagon is being able to get some introductions done and tell some jokes for the appropriate aspirations. then i ignore them and get back to spending time with that special someone that i just met.

I stopped letting them in if I didn't want my Sims to be friends or meet some of them. I don't like every townie Maxis built.

I had some amusement yesterday. The Sims in my little asylum for the insane got attacked by a vampire, Victor Feng, so I needed to sort things out.

I moved Victor and his wife, Lily, onto the empty lot next door to the asylum and placed a high fence around Victor, having first made sure that he couldn't turn into a bat and fly away.

The Sun had just sorted him out when about half of the inmates from next door turned up, oh what a comfort for the grieving Lily.

She told them all to bog off because I was anxious to put her back in her swanky apartment.

What a result for one of the inmates, though. He got to keep the fruitcake, which he loved. On top of that he's really creepy and annoying and he doesn't socialise much with the others. They tend to ignore him or go away if he turns up at the table looking for a chat.

Now, however, he has someone to phone if he gets lonely. Poor Lily, as if it wasn't bad enough being married to a vampire and then widowed...
