I'd see if only your PSU got damaged. My son had a friend that had the exact same thing happen to him. Power outage, computer was on, killed the computer. He replaced the PSU and the rest of his computer was perfectly fine. In the future, as many others had said, it's always best to have a computer (as well as TV's, etc) plugged into a surge protector. You can get them fairly cheap and they are so worth the price. I live in a highly stormy area, and when I know the weather is going to get bad, I just shut off all pcs and play on laptops not plugged in.
