This exact thing happened to me. I'm currently playing the Roomies household, and Zoe is dating Johnny Zest. Johnny said he found a ring in Zoe's bag and asked what he should say. I told him to make his own decision. He didn't like that response but it's too soon for an engagement for them. They've only been dating 3 sim weeks, and I at least want to make it through my first rotation before they even think about marriage.

But that means you left it up to him. If you don’t want them getting engaged I would think you’d want to respond with the “No” option.

Yeah, I did leave it up to him because it was too soon. He didn't really like that response. He basically said "Thanks for nothing." I didn't want to say no because I do plan on them getting engaged but not yet.

What I meant by it being the exact same thing was my sim got a call from her boyfriend about her. They don't even live together right now.

I could be wrong but answering “no” doesn’t mean they can’t get engaged later under your control. But giving him the option to do what he wants leaves the chance they’ll get engaged on their own. At least that’s how I interpret how this stuff works! Let us know what happens!
