What’s Your Favorite Type of Household to Start With?

Varies on my mood as to what i'd play and the type of household i'd play as well, it can vary from 1 sim to 8 sims and i always try to keep a balanced enough approach to the households, but sometimes it is one way on purpose for a complicated storyline. I wouldn't say they are favorite as i have lots of sims and households i could choose from.


if i'm in a serious mood, i'd play the teenager Sandra Matthews, she is a loner and loves writing books. Her aim has always to keep her family name, so marriage is not an option. She doesn't care to know anyone either but it won't stop her from having some fun with the right guy, just like that, especially when she knows she will get pregnant. Sandra wants what she wants and always serious about it.

I'm in a relaxed mood it will be the young adult Tobias Lancaster, he likes to exercise all the time and makes every effort to woo Summer Holiday to his side, as they are very much alike. so he starts on his own but works out to become a lover and then a family man.

If i'm in a curious mood, i'd play the Alderra's, an elder father, two teenaged sons and a young adult wife and step-mother to the sons. The idea there is to get the one son ready to woo his former step-mother after Julian passes and find someone for the other son to be with and begin a long lineage of Alderra's.

If i'm in an a frustrated mood, i'll play the updated oddball hangouts, all young adults with their own quirks, two men and two women, one of the women are evil and the other is erratic, the two men has one being active and the other a loner. together they embody a sea of energetic chaos.

if i'm in a loving mood then i'd go for the Manderbrook's, an elder father, an adult mother, a young adult son and a bunch of teenaged daughters and a child daughter. There is a lot of love in that family.


The list goes on though, sometimes i may not play Tobias in a relaxed mood, sometimes it can be Garry Burnside who is looking to woo Zoe Patel, marry and have children as soon as he can, he loves his wife and children deeply, or have the Alderra's replaced by the Cassavetes with young adult mother and father with a child son and daughter.


Sometimes i feel like i'm in a manipulative manner i'd go for Janet Vendrell, Daniel Evans or Colin Stackhouse to explore those impulses out by manipulating other sims around them for their own benefit;

In Colin's case, to bed a teenaged girl and die happily knowing he is a father, even though his wife will struggle as a teenager to look after her own children alone.

Daniel Evans is looking for woowho gratification, he is a serial womanizer, and he doesn't care that she married so long as she isn't pregnant. And if he has children from such affiars? then he'd be delighted to know and more so that he won't raise those children if their mother is happy to do it herself.

Janet Vendrell likes to manipulate powerful individuals with substantial assets, everything she does is careful, calculated and controlling. If there is even a chance that she can acquire more wealth, power and personal gain from it? she'd do just that, but she wouldn't make it at all obvious though and in some cases she can make it look like it was a choice made by her target. If Janet happens to have her own children from such things? Then she will create a dynasty of her own making! Nothing is outside her designs or reach.

• young adult female (my most common one, pretty much my default)
  
• young adult couple (one male, one female usually) to be the founders of a new legacy (not super often, i try to have only one legacy at a time)
  
• a household of usually 3 roommates with varying personalities and goals, all just trying to coexist
  

the couples are because with legacies i usually can't be bothered making just one sim and then having them go find love and have a family, i'd rather have the relationship all set out so the legacy can begin asap

the roommates are for when i have a lot of different ideas for sims to play and decided to put a trio of them in one household so i can switch between them and not get bored (also so i don't have to make a new save for each one)

i tend to automatically make sims the same gender as me (female) because i find female sims easier to live through/relate to. also they're way more fun/interesting to make in CAS, i find

Young adult female

Young adult roomies, or caregiver and 7 toddlers if I'm up for the challenge.

YA female, unless a challenge calls for a male.

It depends on my mood. Most recently I started playing a single adult male. Before that a young adult male. I have played Don Lothario a heap of times. It is rare that I play females, but I always start with singles.

I'm "adult" female IRL.

It varies for me, but my main sim is actually a YA male, despite the fact that I am female. I don't start new saves often, but I do tend to have one main YA or adult male sim. I am a family player and hopeless romantic, so I usually create a second character who could be male or female for them to eventually marry and have a child/children with. Sometimes I add younger sims if I'm starting the story with a single parent or a family, but usually I wait so I can enjoy the baby stage. I have a soft spot for a dad with a daddy's girl. I am also an animal lover, so if it suits my character I often give them a pet.

Never the same, I try to keep it interesting for me.

If I don't have any specific story for the game play I usually always start with a single Sim. It can be female or male, whatever I feel like at the moment. I often randomize the traits and aspiration and start playing. I will decide later if and when my Sim will have a family etc. It depends on my Sim's personality and whatever happens in the game.

If I have a story in my mind (or if play a challenge) I create the Sims that I need for it. Sometimes it's a family, sometimes roommates, sometimes single Sim, whatever is required.
