If I create a single sim, it's usually female like me. I have three saves I've played in and they all started differently. One was a YA couple, one was a YA female, and one was the Addams family. I can't say which is my favorite, I think it depends on how fast I want to transition from party life to family play at the time I create them.
My real preference is to play generations, and go through the single YA stage and the young couple stage and the family stage cyclically. Because what really keeps me interested is variety.
