I am so sad, I actually exited my game without saving because I entered my hen into the competition at the fair and the game took her. I thought you just enter them and you get them back, they actually took her. So yeah, no idea how I am going to earn the ribbons if they are gonna take my chickens and eggs. From what I understand, it should be. I was nearly 100% sure the livestream had the item returned when they showed off the fairs.

When those exhibition tables disappear, so do your chickens and vegetables. Same thing happens when you use the sales tables at the flea market festival and community market. You need to get your stuff back before the game removes the tables.

I thought I read somewhere that they are found in the household inventory, but not sure if that was a pumpkin rather than a chicken.

yeah that what I thought as well, but everything including my chicken and her egg just disappeared.

But the ribbon only got awarded as everything disappeared, do you think I could have taken her earlier and still earn a ribbon? I will try again but with a new save game where my sim is not bonded to her chickens

They go into your household inventory. There is a pop up that appears at the end of the fair that tells you

The 3 fairs I've entered everything was returned to my household inventory.
