Imagine, if you will, that you're a creator in The Sims 4. You made some amazing, unique Sims with great personalities, and gave them an interesting story. Then you take this family and share it on the gallery.
Then you make an awesome house for these same Sims to live in. You're proud of your work, and you share that to the gallery as well.
Then a week later, you go onto the Gallery, and someone took your Sims and house, and shared them to the gallery on their account, and everyone is giving them the credit for "making" these Sims and the house, and the copier doesn't even mention that you made these things, and claimed that he/she made the Sims and the house his/herself.
Would YOU be okay with that?
You do realize that this thread is from last year and nothing is really different?
Needless to say ...once you put your work up it's no longer yours. I understand the moral question about "stealing' the work of someone else but that's all it is...just a moot question of right and wrong. It's not yours any more.
As a self employed artist I completely understand what the issue is. A couple of years ago I was asked to write an article for a magazine about an original art doll series I had made. Not long after the article came out I found inexpensive knock offs for sale on eBay. Short of a protracted legal battle there wasn't a lot I could do. I let it go and went on to other things.
Uploading things to the gallery doesn't even give you some of the options I might have had. Internet "idea theft" happens and it's going to continue to happen. My advice....learn to live with it or stop doing it. A thread in this forum isn't going to change it. Life's too short to worry about it.
