What are peoples thoughts on "stealing" In the gallery?

I have uploaded a couple of things in the gallery, but have used a lot from there. I never re-upload them, I have made changes but for me only.
I can see this from both sides, I personally would consider it a compliment that anyone used it to begin with. Maybe there should be a line stating the creator and who it was redesigned by. I would also like to have a way to see how anyone may have changed what I did.
