Well, from my play style I'm not a builder so I like to download other published houses and alter features like accents, terrain, colours etc. whilst still maintaining the exterior look to the original; no overboard modifications to the architecture as I like to keep it somewhat akin to the original. However, I completely change the floor plans on the interior as well as the furnishing to the taste of the family I'm going to be moving in. I don't see a problem with this because when I choose to upload my version, the game will automatically credit the user so I don't have to.
If you were/are a creator, would you take offence to this? I'd be surpised but it'll be interesting to know. I think there's a clear difference with stealing and adapting in all honesty. Creations should be either admired or modeled upon, not effortlessly stolen. There are so many amazing creators out there who even renovate other builders creations themselves, that's kind of the admirable route to take imo.
I can't build to save my life so I download houses I like and redo them like you do. I don't upload them though.
