Brindleton getting a lot of rain actually kinda makes sense? It's realistic. I live close to the sea too; it rains rather frequently and it's almost always overcast. Truly sunny days are a little uncommon, especially the ones that aren't super windy.
So no, it does not rain too much in BB.
I live in the PNW known for our rain. Yes it rains way too much in BB. New England has less rain than we do (average rainfall in new england is 16 inches in a year we get 38+ inches a year in WA) and does not have a thunderstorm every single day in summer. It's incredibly unrealistic and makes zero sense.
It's...a Sims world. Just because it's based on a certain place, doesn't mean that the weather will be exactly like that place. Brindleton Bay is still it's own world, it's own place. It can rain however much it wants to rain and still be "realistic" because no one ever claimed that it was an exact replica of another place. It's it's own place and it rains more than average there. I would actually want to live in Brindleton Bay over any of the other world's. I find rain beautiful. Also, stray animals walking around for me to help? Yes please! I only with that there was just an option to foster strays, like nurse them back to health and then adopt them out. That's something that I want to do in real life, so it would be really cool to see that in game.
Okay? That had nothing to do with anything. The commenter said that it was normal and implied it was realistic for new england its not. It's not even realistic for my area which is far rainier. It actually makes BB unplayable without mods. No it's not realistic (the science alone is why lol I mean there isn't even any rain storms in the original coding outside of the summer which is not realistic of how weather works at all) and it's functionally gamewise unhelpful, tedious, and unfun. I was replying to something specific. Your comment isn't changing anything about that.
I clearly don't mind rain I live in a temperate rainforest. Constant thunderstorms would be unlivable though as irl you would constantly have unrooted trees, downed power lines, and damage to housing. So I doubt you would live anywhere where that was the case every day like in BB for an entire summer. There even is a place on earth where it gets hit by massive storms and it isn't habitable due to it. My point is that's not a realistic view of weather and it makes my game unfun. I'm glad you like it, but I shouldn't have to mod my own game to make weather more realistic or even playable.
