It took about a week of in game time to get things situated. I'm thinking of trying to restart the spring season to get the full season in this story arc. However, I ended up creating a new save after an Update fixed a bug that made Sliders for child sims possible.
Considering the risk of not being able to save the older save and a multitude of other things that made me wary of continuing the save (broken child sliders included but not the only reason for my decision.) I decided to restart my story and my save before anything catastrophic could happen. More of a precaution on my part rather than a statement on the update.
This did give me time to rethink a number of different things and find a way to weave in the different drafts into a more focused story. The merfolk were recreated and some of them don't have the same look they used to have. I also used this as an opportunity to not given ALL the mermadic powers to all my oldest merfolk.
I am still working on the build but given the way the changes start to become less noticeable over time, I decided it would be better to tone down the frequence of updates to free up some time.
Anyways, here's a teaser for my new Chapter 1 I will be rebooting my story with.
Chapter 1: A Wayward Pod
Kemps proposes an idea to his younger brothers and their partners concerning a new home for the growing pod.
9 screenshots later and after a bit of discussion. I ended up with this. I wonder what could have given Arihi this reaction. 🤔 Given her intelligence among members of the pod. Something doesn't seem like a great idea to her.
Arihi has come a long way from leaving a toddler Zephyr on the beach to pass out so she can sleep in her bed. 😂And that reminded me of the time she tried to swim with Zephyr as a toddler and got glitched. 🤣
I'm hoping there is some hope in making her into a more loving mother. For her character, it has been a struggle given her past with the twins when they were born in game. 😑 I've always leaned on Calum in game for parenting and childcare because Arihi has always been completely hopeless in that area no matter how high her parenting skill gets. 😅

I hope that your new save and restart to your story goes well 🙂Arihi does look a little concerned with what Kemps has said about a new home. They are great photos of the merfolk gathered together discussing plans.

Maybe one day I'll figure out where those images ended up and share them here. The actual images are at least a decade old at this point... Hard to imagine this Zalrian Pod has been around for 10 or so years now.
Edit: The loss of those images could be a consequence of time and many different circumstances. To those who are new to my merfamily, Dylan and Zephyr, the twins were actually the first sims I've ever had born in game. I played that household on the console for a very long time before playing on the pc to use mods.

Should clarify, the images I speak of are the original images of Dylan and Zephyr as toddlers. Not sure where they might've ended up, but they are absolutely fintastic images that were typical sim weirdness.

Arihi and her relationship with her kids has always been a little different. Calum is absolutely amazing when it comes to the child life stage and younger, but Arihi is a stronger parent with the teen life stage and older. I don't know if anything is in their code, but I really can never see Arihi as being the stronger parent for her younger children and I never had much time to see what she would do as a Grandma before starting over on the pc to give the twins their mermadic childhood... lots to think about.
