I finally have the screenshots for the first half of my new chapter done. Now, onto the more difficult second half because I'll be trying to pose merlings, the child merfolk.
Teasers for the First Half of Chapter 1:
For the second half, I have Alex looking after his twin brothers and his two cousins while the adult mer discuss something important. I do feel like Alex being an active storyteller with his younger family members is a big part of his character.
The scenes with the Merlings are always a bit more fun because they almost always involve them having fun and living their best mermadic life. Makes these scenes much more light-hearted.

I definitely think Alex cares a lot about the merlings in the pod. I definitely imagine Calum trusting him to look after them when needed.
I do have aging turned on, but the life span for the life stages for my merfolk are multiplied by 500% and certain variants gain immortality when they become young adults, or adult mermen or mermaids. I don’t think I can even see how many days before their birthday will show, but I know it will be much longer than 112 sim days.
