- I've got a couple in copperdale who are vets, so I really want a horse for them and its probly gonna be the female sim whos gonna be into riding and taking part in competitions.
So I also wanna turn the huge lot in copperdale into a sorta "horse park" or rather an animal park that has stuff for horses too, really hope we are gonna be able to do that.
The vet couples daughter already has a farm in henford and Im gonna be giving her some goats and sheep.
Also my witch is gonna get a black goat.
Dont know if any sim will move to the new world, depends on the lots and how it looks...maaayyybe... - iv been working on earning money with my girl, i want to buy the ranch in the trailer. i also plan on adopting boy and a girl and breeding horse. i love the little lambs and goats.
- Karamazov123Seasoned HotshotMy plans have changed. My sims seem happy and successful in Henford, and they didn't have a daughter. So no horse girl. So instead, I'm retooling my gameplay to be based around the family's two sons, and the whacky visitors who come to town and turn Horse Ranch into Dallas.
The idea is that most of them live in the town's hotel (AKA a residential lot they all share) and get tangled in each other's lives.

Fabian Stellar: the prodigal son, the younger brother. He developed a love of music from his older brother, and he's stopping by Chestnut Ridge (the "big city," in comparison to Henford) on his way to San Myshuno, in order to pursue his music career. Having grown up on a farm, he has experience with crops and animals - and horse-riding has him intrigued.
His hobbies include singing, guitar, horse-riding, and taking care of animals. His race horse will be Clover.

Colt Stellar is the serious, cynical, burdened older brother. When his music career never came to be, he became the dutiful son and stayed on the family farm. He's come to Chestnut Ridge to catch up with his brother and convince him to return home, lest he find the same disappointment he did. But while he's here, he might as well learn about nectar-making and bring new ideas back to Henford.
His hobbies include singing, guitar, nectar-making, DJing, handiness, and taking care of animals. His work horse is Cinnamon.

Alani Scaloha is from Sulani, but staying in Chestnut Ridge while she studies photography in college. She's not interested in rural life, but rent is cheap, the sites are nice, and they're not too far away from the mysterious StrangerVille. She's capturing everyone's drama in pictures, but will her own feelings complicate her relationship with her subjects? She's focusing on her crush on Fabian, but she's developing some chemistry with the equally-cynical Colt.

Doesn't live in the hotel, but has her own ranch. Marie Belle Vale is the reliable, hot-headed, but spirited girl who volunteers at the horse-training... thingy. Whatever it's called. Her wild nature has attracted the attention of both brothers, who are both vying for her attention. Right now, she's more interested in training her competition horse, Paprika, for the big competition. But she's eager for some friendly competition.

Mina Dinero is a local shop-owner, selling Selvadoradian crafts she totally got from Selvadorada, and not from Plopsy. She's not upselling stuff at exorbitant prices, oh no. As a shop-owner, she often runs into everyone in town. Alani is her best friend, Erika and Fabian are casual friends, she tolerates Melody more than most, and she and Marie often get annoyed with each other. Both girls are just so strong-willed and stubborn, so they always butt heads over... well, they forgot why they started arguing with each other. But it was probably important.
She likes dancing and crafts, and she dreams of being an archaeologist. Her work horse is Basil. Recent "wolf" attacks have her investigating the landscape of Chestnut Ridge at night, as well.

Lives in a secluded area of the map. Melody Song is the local eccentric. She's well-meaning, if a little ditzy. A proud witch, she sells her potions to anyone who asks. Unfortunately, she's not very good at making them, and they tend to explode in everyone's faces. As if the town didn't already distrust her enough. But she has a knack for sniffing out occults, and she can tell that the Stellar brothers have some spellcasters in them.
Her familiar is a goat named Parsley James, and it's a girl.

Erika is the Stellar boys' first cousin, four(?) times removed. (Her mother, the boys' great-great-aunt, is a spellcaster and waited a hundred years or so before having kids.) She's a spellcaster, born with a disability that prevents her from performing magic. On her bosses' orders, she's come to town to help a local nectary expand. Upon finding that her distant relatives are in town, she's hatched a plan: she'll marry one of them, and continue their bloodline of powerful sorcerers.
Erika likes chess, star-gazing, collecting dolls and figurines, and reading. She took in a rescue horse named Cumin, but while she nurses it to full strength, she doesn't think she'll keep him for long. She dreams of becoming rich by investing in ventures and helping people start their own businesses. But maybe she should start a business of her own, or take a pre-existing one over?

Obscenely rich, obscenely eccentric, Sly Grimm staying in town for a few years while he searches for the rare black unicorn. And also regular unicorns, since they're delicious. He's Erika's former childhood crush. He's considering buying up a local nectary on the off-chance that unicorns might have a drinking problem, and he wants to use the wine to bait them. That puts him in competition with Erika. He might set also set his sights on Marie Belle's family ranch, so his unicorn could have a vacation home.

Terrence Newt is rich, sensible, and a powerful spellcaster. He suffers from a hereditary curse that distorts his body and ages him prematurely. He's also Sly's frienemy and Erika's former rival.
His father was an evil spellcaster who once served the vile, body-hopping Erebus Tricou. Terrence also serves Erebus, but only in the hopes of getting his curse lifted. And his mission is to find one of the seven sims who inherited powers from Creator Lords; powerful sim-gods who give up their forms and powers to their children. Legends say that if the gods' bloodlines combine, they will create a super-sim with all their powers. Erebus wants to create that sim and take over their body. Nasty business, but Terrence doesn't want his bloodline to suffer the curse.

Jamie Nimbus-Stellar (his side branched away so far from in the main Stellar family tree, I can't even comprehend how he's even related to them) is a budding music artist. He's in Chestnut Ridge to film a music video, but he's also traveling the sim-world for clues as to the whereabouts of his missing father. He was raised by his grandparents, who willfully kept him in the dark to "protect both and his father from evil." He also happens to have a rivalry with Colt, who's bitter about Jamie's success.
He's renting a show horse named Nutmeg.

Ebony Dark'ness Dementia Raven way is just here to cause trouble, and to find a gothic horse.

Aurora Knight loves the outdoors, animals, and acting. She dreams of becoming a famous actress, which brings her to Chestnut Ridge: it's close to Del Sol Valley. She commands everyone's attention with her confidence and charisma. She has a crush on Colt and is friends with Mina, but doesn't get along with Erika.

Sunny Raye loves books, herbalism, and acting. Like Aurora, she dreams of becoming an actress, and came to Chestnut Ridge for the same reasons. She and Aurora are step-sisters, but are bitter rivals and enemies. She excels in perfecting any role she's given. She has a crush on Colt, and is friends with Alani and Fabian. She doesn't get along with Mina. - SheriSimSeasoned Hotshot

I’m thinking of turning the Michealson large lot in San Sequoia into a park where sims can ride horses, I’ve already put them and their house on a smaller lot in SS. I have one sim that already wears a cowboy hat in willow creek that I’m going to move to Chestnut Ridge and give a horse to. I’ll be moving him out of the house he’s living in with 2 friends and give him his own lot, a lot just big enough for he and his horse. - SimmervilleSeasoned AceI'm currently planning to add a stage area in the park lot that approaches the Equestrian Center. I want there to be more of a local community around this, basically for storytelling. And because the center itself is rabbit hole, they need somewhere else to celebrate competition winners, give speeches and get their champion photo taken :) I think a press center is a natural thing on this lot, but hopefully I can just add it to a corner and keep most of the lot as is.
- LixyQuinn170Seasoned HotshotI have been building a very tight barn in Henford-On-Bagley ! https://i.imgur.com/YUeGZnm.png
- RememberJoySeasoned NoviceSo I've been studying the map and doing some planning, and these are my rough plans/thoughts before actually exploring the world myself.

Yellow: Leave as is
Pink: Use for my sims
Green: National Park or Park
Red: Gym
Blue: Restaurant
Orange: Retail or Vet
White: Recreation Center
Purple: Community Space - telemwillSeasoned AceThe only thing I'm really tempted to change here is to make the 64x64 lot into a Barbie ranch house.
I would also add a restaurant somewhere because I always do that. - amapola76Seasoned HotshotI want to explore all the actual lots before committing, but the concept that is currently shaping up is:
New Appaloosa/Middle Neighborhood:
Use the 30x20 residential lot for a vet clinic (either adapting or bulldozing the current build, depending on how it looks)
Turn the bar into a restaurant, possibly. Otherwise, I'll likely leave it as it is.
Leave the 20x20 lot as a home for the aspiring country musician sim I'm going to make, so she has easy access to busk downtown.
Leave the 40x30 equestrian center/park (?) as it is, for now.
I wanted to add a general store retail lot, but there's not a good space for one, and with the general store shell they added, it seems a bit redundant. So instead, I'm going to turn the "dancehall" (nightclub) into a "Fairgrounds" (technically, a community marketplace): I'll leave the bar and dance floor, but my sims will also be able to sell their milk, wool, crafts, etc., at sales tables along the walls.
Bottom neighborhood: I love the little red farmhouse, so that's staying. I just need to think of the perfect family to move in.
I have mixed feelings about the other three lots; it looks like the builders did a great job, so I hate to bulldoze them, but I'm not sure they fit the way I want to use the space, either. So that's TBD, after I get a good look at them, and finish the things that I am sure about.
One thing I know for sure is that the Roswells are getting a cattle ranch somewhere in this neighborhood. I don't really want to give them the only 64x64, but I might, in the end, if it comes down to it. I'm not fully moving them from Strangerville, I'm just changing a lot to retail, and having them raise (mostly) cattle, board a couple of horses, and have a little store to sell milk, cheese, etc.
Also, I may keep one of the homes in this neighborhood as it is, but change it to rental, and use it for an agritourism/nectarmaking educational center of sorts. I've wanted something like that since CoL but never had a good space for it, so one of these lots might be good. I might also need the 64x64 lot for that. I'll just have to get in there and really check out those lots to see.
Top neighborhood
I'm keeping the 20x20 residential lot exactly as it is; the 20x15 will change from rental to residential, but that's it.
I'm not sure yet about the 50x50, but I suspect that people will do really interesting things with this lot, so I'm going to keep an eye out on the gallery for a while to see whether there's anything creative to download. - ck213Seasoned ScoutI will not be playing it anytime soon, but if I were, I would immediately play a rags to riches scenario using nectar making as a pathway to riches. I played this in The Sims 3 and enjoyed it so much. I am not sure how well it will convert over to TS4, but it should be doable.
Phase 1: The Micro-nectary
I would start my sim on a small lot that isn't very helpful in making small batches of nectar. My sim actually started out restoring classic cars in the sims 3, but he also started to garden and growing plants needed for nectar making.
This is the basement of a community greenhouse. It had nectar making equipment in the basement.
He would get most of his ingredients here and make his first bottles of nectar.
Phase 2: The Farm
Time to scale up. It was at this point that I decided to combine my rags-to-riches scenario with a bachelor challenge. He was going to need a wife to share his nectar making empire. I had six attractive ladies of various personalities and interests join him. I created a complex scoring system to help determine his best match. They all worked together to save enough money for the third phase of this scenario.
I will probably locate the TS4 farm in Henford-on-Bagley.
Phase 3: The Mansion
This is the end game. They have to fill all the nectar racks in the mansion's nectar cellar and then the final dates will happen and the ladies will be scored on the dates and all the data collected on their growth and relationship happenings at the farm and mansion.
I believe I will locate the TS4 mansion in Tartosa.
It's about time I actually use that worldSpoiler
The winner will marry the bachelor and they will begin raising a family.
They will still own the farm, but won't need to grow any ingredients since they have plenty of nectar to sell. They will only sell the most expensive bottles and only grow enough ingredients to replace what they sell.
Most of their time will be spent on raising the children.
This sim won the challenge in TS3 and getting to this point was extremely fun, probably the most fun I ever had in TS3.
This was the nectar cellar at the start of phase 3. The outer halls will be used to store the nectar. That's a lot of nectar to make. It can support a family for generations, especially if they are replacing sold bottles with new stock. The eldest child will inherit the mansion. The next eldest will inherit the farm, and maybe pass it on to a younger sibling when they establish their own mansion.
