Right now I’m playing the scientist career (which is my favorite from the entire game) but my sim is about to quit her job because she wants to spend more time with her newborn. She will be knitting in the meantime & selling her creations on plopsy. Her husband works as a detective (which is my second favorite career). When she was in college & single I did have her do the freelance career as a programer & I actually liked it a lot. I do plan on getting her into retail (baker) once the baby is older though since I want her to spread out in careers.
Besides the careers I mentioned & superstar (which I briefly played on a old main sim when it first came out) I can’t really say much on the other careers. I guess the career I avoid are the rabbit hole careers. I prefer going to work with my sim & having total control.
