The only active career I like is the Scientist because of the sadistic jokes (your job today is to freeze 4 workmates etc :)) plus the stuff you get (the Simray primarily).
Other than that I prefer rabbit holes (don't care what, really) for unimportant household members (aka male Sims) or freelance or self employed.
Most Sims are self employed because it is so stupidly easy to get rich anyway, it's not like you aren't Swimming in cash with barely any effort after a few irl hours barely working...(my current household has 120 000 in the bank plus a 65 000 house by selling Fizz at yardsales only)
