What Career(s) Do You Usually Go With, and What Are the Career(s) You Stay Away From?

I couldn't see anything posted about this, so if there is a discussion I'm sorry. I usually go with Writer, Painter, or Culinary. Right now, I'm trying to use different careers because I want to...

I mostly do painting, writing, business and tech guru. I have been trying to do a short legacy with 5 - 6 generations of Sims that are freelancers, but none of the freelance careers work properly and I have given up. I also really love the scientist and doctor careers because I can immerse myself more into my Sim's world.
